Milestones

Peace Love Industries was founded January 12 2012

By March 25th we hit 300 likers!

At 9th May we hit 400 likers!

I want to thank everyone who has liked, viewed, shared, inspired, supported, AND brought product through Peace Loves Facebook Page!

Working our way up to 500! currently sitting on 426! All has been pretty full on in the last 4 and a half months! In between going back to work, looking after my 2 boys (3 including my husband), keeping up with housework, Friday ciders with friends I manage to stay half pie sane!

Hard to find time and effort lately to be creative and inspiring, as we are packing to  move house soon!  SO once we are all settled! Expect to see some newbies!  EXCITING!!!!!!

On a completely different note.... I also have a liking of packaging products after seeing lots of ideas on that website I always rave about.  So I wanted my bunting DIY packs 2 look cute as owls!!!  And I tend to make things that are my taste, like pink & pastels! You like these & live in NZ? Hunt me down Im sure its not hard, and I will tailor it to how YOU like!

Ok its Kids bathtime so I better Skiddaddle!

Shabby Chic

I also am interested in distressed furniture after doing up this awesome jewellery box for a friend.

My friend loves Opshops! I do in small doses, I will go... head straight to where the frames are and I'm outa there.

She found this cute jewellery box for me to do up.  I wish I took a before photo.  Picture this... All wooden and missing the door inserts.  So with a lil white paint and some vintage scrapbooking card! Voila! Shabby Chic!

So now when I head to the opshop I now look for frames, and then quickly for cute finds like this, then outa there! lol

This one was a fave also!  Bit of up cycling n now looks perfect! Picture this.... White was previously an ugly green, and the blackboard was a beautiful (NOT) picture of some grapes!

Put it all together & you get Shabby Chic!

The hard thing about creations like these 2...... U just wana keep them! I could! But then that would defeat my purpose of business, to create & sell! lol

(As I write this we have a small rage to madagascar! 'I like to move it move it')  LOL

Moving on......

This was another great find! I got it off 'Preloved Gisborne' facebook page.  Another awesome place to buy/sell good locally! This can also become an addiction.  Which I am NOT! But once when I kinda was... I found this! Before it was all crappy & gold! forgive me for people who do like gold!  This just looks so much more chic in white with a hint of gold lol

Brought for $15 sold for $40  I did wana keep this.

I tried to find another one on Trade Me Shamade Me but people were wanting to sell for a ridiculous price!  So I will keep an eye out for any more cheapies :)

Comp Geek... ish

Well in between trying to get a teething Tyson to sleep, Annoyingly fast forwarding ads on mysky movies for Seth.  I managed to create a Blog! Was quite a straight forward process.  NOT!  Well the writing is the fun part! I actually really enjoy torturing u all about my life! lol! But it was trying to link up widgets that take you to my pinterest & facebook page! After I would say an hour or more! I done it! Please let me know if they dnt work haha! PLEASE!

On a higher note.....

Here are my adorable boys that keep my going! Introducing Seth Micaiah Ingoe who is 4, going on 5 in November! & Tyson Kalani Ingoe who is 9 months, has been crawling for a week, stood up on couch 2day, and teething for months with still not a toothy peg in sight!

These pics also remind me while looking for them, that yes, add another semi obsession to the mix I love Instagram! :) Although I only use it for friends & family on facebook!

Bigger & Better

As you saw from my last pic, I must say again it is my fave bit of artwork! Mainly because it is big, distressed, and blackboard! 3 main obsessions haha

But I was still wanting to expand Peace Love into something bigger & better! Not just frames!!! Hmmmm

So..... (sorry) After 1000 more hours of pinning on pinterest I had a few more obsessions!

PEGS! BUNTING! & ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING VINTAGE & PASTEL!!!

Oh and owls! lol  Yes I have an entire board that hold awesome owls!! Jeez u should get out more! (I know your all thinking) I actually wouldn't have it any other way! As I have accomplished so much in the last year & actually starting to feel a quite complete, knowing and learning alot from the world! The real world & the world wide web!

See aren't they soooo freekin cute!!! lol

Ok back to what I actually started posting about! I wanted more to Peace Love than frames!  I fell in love with bunting! (My husband gives me shit! I'm sure he just likes to say Bunting) lol

But whats a girl to do when she cant sew but really wants to sell bunting????

Well she incorporated it into what she does best! PEGS!!!! I make peg frames also, like this

Yes thats My adorable son Seth featured in my frame! Thats actually him on our wedding day!
Anywho!!! I decided to make paper peg bunting! Thats bunting flags made out of scrapbooking paper, as you can get some awesome paper that is similar to awesome fabrics.  This was the result!

I packaged them up into cute lil DIY packs where people can assemble themselves to decorate for a party or just a kids bedroom.  So cute!!!

This then went on to incorporate yet another obsession of burlap into peg bunting!

Networking

So... (Favourite word at the mo)  I apologise as u will prob read it 10 million more times b4 the end of this post.

What I was getting to was...  Networking! I will begin to say that networking a business, along with actually creating is actually hard work.

What is networking?  Think of it in a way of promoting your business to ultimately expose your business, therefor resulting in sales!  After trawling the internet for get rich quick schemes lol (I know, I know funny) But true! It did open my eyes up to a whole lot of options out there! And you know what? BLOGGING is one of them!  And it is also one of those  'It wont happen over night, but will happen' things!  But on my trawling endeavor, I found the likes of these facebook pages.....

http://www.facebook.com/AdvertiseMyNZPage

http://www.facebook.com/IncreaseYourLikesNZOnly

These pages r awesome! And are great at promoting NZ Business's!  Head on over if you wana find out more... & may give you insight into 'Likes Ladders' that I post about now & then!

I have met (not in person) lol actually yes I have met some local Gisborne business's! Through networking on facebook! It opens a world of opportunities! Lots of inspiring people, who have interests like me!!!

So inspiring seeing NZ business's that are successful through facebook, Inspiring material from Pinterest, you may also have noticed that I like to promote my work with inspiring quotes, both on my art work and my facebook (stolen quotes, not my own.  stolen from pinterest of course).  I then wanted to expand into bigger & better frames, that will make more of an impact in peoples homes.  This was one of my first biggies that I was actually sad when it sold! haha

Trade Me shamade me!

At first I put my creations up for sale on Trade Me.  This is not as easy as it sounds! You need to categorize your listing in the right ones to attract the right buyers.

How much was I goin to sell my art for? Fuck knows I thought! As I felt a bit like some of first frames were a tad rushed.  So I just randomly made up prices & hoped they would sell :)  I had links to my trade me auctions from my facebook page.  So the auctions had closed & nothing sold :(   Ok so that terrible quote came to mind
'It doesn't happen overnight, but it does happen'

Yes Yes I know, though cheesy it is true!  So I decided to flag Trade Me Shamade Me as all it was really doing was taking my money to list!

That is y I LOVE FACEBOOK!!! Free business promoting!

My first Creations

These are some of the frames I made out of the ones I got given!

Bit of a taster for you all!  I managed to make something out of just about every frame I had and this totaled   about 20 creations.  I was so eager to get these up for people to view on my new Peace Love Facebook page.  facebook.com/Peaceloveindustries But again I wanted to do it properly so I hired a professional photographer (My mum) :) to take awesome pics to show them off beautifully.  Once up n running I had to get my fan base established to accomplish my goal of getting my artwork into peoples homes.

Welcome Peace Lovers!!!

Welcome to Peace Love Industries

So..... My very first blog post! Dum dee dooo! What to post I wondered to myself! After a bit I realised that the only way to go would be to take you right back to the beginning of Peace Love Industries.

Ok! Peace Love started when I was pregnant with my second baby.  I have always been a bit creative but just needed that extra something to inspire me to do it more often.  Also looking for ways to make some extra cash,  I decided to combine the two.  On my 27th birthday I also got that extra nudge when a friend of mine & her partner gave me a big home made awesome blackboard made out of wall skirting (if thats what its called? my husband would prob correct me lol) I Loved it! And getting this gave me even more inspiration to start.  I knew I wanted to create wall art & do up frames, I knew I wanted to sell them on the internet.  Oh all the possibilities with technology these days.  If I was to do it, I wanted to do it properly!

So to begin.... Well you need resources! A lot of them! So to get some cash towards some art supplies I started up a local facebook page called 'Great Gizzy Garage Sale'  It was to sell some preloved belongings to some friends to help set up this business that I decided to call Peace Love Industries!!!!!  Well this was awesome! The money started dripping in & I was a tad obsessed actually.... lol finding things around the house to sell that I probably wasnt allowed to...  As the husband noticed things he didnt want me to sell haha.  And by this stage I had My darling wee boy called Tyson so I had a bit of spare time while he slept to sell goodies!  Thousands of photos later lol It actually is a job ya know, having your own online garage sale.  Time & effort! But I persisted because along with wanting art supplies I was desperate for a COFFEE MACHINE!!!! Yummy :)

So several weeks later I got some art supplies and the husband helped contribute to the rest of my coffee machine I had on layby for my birthday! I was stoked.  I also asked people for free or cheap frames and was showered by heaps of them from some awesome people... You know who you are... that donated some frames, mainly because they were interested in what I was planning to do with them.  Thanks guys!  So it was these first frames that led me to make these creations.
